Exclusive interview

What’s your playlist look like when you’re flying to a gig?

On today’s flight, I was listening to Rafael Gualazzi. Especially the Gilles Peterson Remix of “Reality and Fantasy” is one of my favourite tunes. If I feel sleepy I listen to meditation playlists from Spotify.

What is the last artist that you discovered?

Since I have two labels and listen to lots of demos every week. I always discover new artists. This week I signed some new tunes from Chile’s Demian Muller for my label 8Bit.

What’s your favourite wind-down spot in Ibiza?

It’s my friend’s villa near San Rafael. So many good memories with friends there and always a place to wind down.

Can you tell us one thing that no one knows about you?

Not many people know that I’m German. Many think I’m from the UK because of my artist name. More secrets still hidden!

What is the first vinyl/CD/Track you bought?

My first vinyl was a breakbeat record on Knightforce. I used to start DJing with Breakbeats and Drum and Bass.

Do you have a 2019 Track of the Season?

Yes. It’s a bomb from Harry Romero I just signed. Details coming soon.

Have you or are you in the way to adopt the eco-rider?

I try my best to stay away from plastic. In my private life I have just sold my car and try to stay on bike only.

Is there a track you’ve always wanted to remix?

It was ‘Silicone Soul – Right On’ which I had the oportunity to do a couple of years ago.

You always wanted to do a back to back with?

Not too much into back 2 back to be honest. I had some fun ones with Mathias Kaden and Butch and actually in Beirut with Paul Ritch once at Uberhaus was top.

Apart from music, what is your hobby?

My main hobby I would say are my 3 dogs. I spend around 2 hours outside in the park every day. Apart from that I do lots of sports and try to swim in the sea every day.

Favourite movie, tv show or Netflix soundtrack?

Breaking Bad.

The first memory you have of music is?

Seeing my father play the guitar at home. He used to have his own rock band.

You’re a secret fan of?

80’s music.

Could you give us a DJ Tip for Newcomer DJs?

Believe in your dreams. But also be prepared that the scene is a shark tank.
